Autumn 2008 Production‘Ghost Writer’by David Tristram, Directed by Jacquie Spencer 6 – 8 November at the Commemoration Hall Rehearsals: to be agreed by the cast and Jacquie, the director. The read-throughs have now taken place, a cast list will be published soon. This is an outline of the play and characters from Jacquie:Ghost Writer is set in the attic of Alex's house, where his friend Edward, a successful writer, is staying as he can't bear to go back to his own house following the suicide of his wife Ruby. Alex has taken Edward in and is trying to distract him from his self-pity with Glenda, a younger aspiring actress, who is also currently single. This plan may even have worked but Ruby, Edward's dear departed wife, decides that this is the moment to make a reappearance to clear her name and find out who murdered her. She has a plan for Edward to write a play about the events of the night that she died and for him to invite all the main suspects to take part in a play reading to flush out the killer. Characters:
The play is a lot of fun and hopefully will be fun to rehearse. I am very lucky to have Phil Cox assisting me with the directing - he is a very funny actor, as some of you will know from Shakespeare at the George, and is itching to try his hand at directing. I think we will all learn a lot from his experience. I have copies of the script it anyone wants to have a read beforehand - the usual procedure: £6.00 to me and then you get this refunded if you don't get or take an part. |
