Thank you to all those that took part.

This is an outline of the play and characters from Jacquie:

Ghost Writer is set in the attic of Alex's house, where his friend Edward, a successful writer, is staying as he can't bear to go back to his own house following the suicide of his wife Ruby. Alex has taken Edward in and is trying to distract him from his self-pity with Glenda, a younger aspiring actress, who is also currently single. This plan may even have worked but Ruby, Edward's dear departed wife, decides that this is the moment to make a reappearance to clear her name and find out who murdered her.

She has a plan for Edward to write a play about the events of the night that she died and for him to invite all the main suspects to take part in a play reading to flush out the killer.

Characters:

Ruby actress, dramatic, bossy, bitchy and mischievous. Floats in and out of windows.
Age range 30 - 50ish.
Edward playwright - depressed and drinking too much.
Age range 30 - 50ish.
Glenda actress - a bit younger and fresher than the other actresses - again out of work.
25 - 35ish.
Alex pleasant fellow, gay.
Age range 30 - 50ish.
Frances resting actress, past her prime, dramatic, bitchy, falls out of the window.
Age range 40 -50ish.
Hedley actor, also past his prime - wears a wig. which is removed (there is no need for this actor to be thinning on top as we can always achieve this with a skull cap).
Age range 40 - 60ish.

The play is a lot of fun and hopefully will be fun to rehearse. I am very lucky to have Phil Cox assisting me with the directing - he is a very funny actor, as some of you will know from Shakespeare at the George, and is itching to try his hand at directing. I think we will all learn a lot from his experience.

I have copies of the script it anyone wants to have a read beforehand - the usual procedure: £6.00 to me and then you get this refunded if you don't get or take an part.

More information from Jacquie or Michael.
